WOOO! I met with my future boss again today! I gave him some info so he could do a background check on me. (If the police didn't find those bodies I'm sure they wont XD) After the background check he will make me an offer to WORK IN BURNABY! WOOOOO!

Interview final thoughts
Ok... I'm done with the interview. It went well. They said I could be manager material because most of their employees are Chinese immagrents who lack communication skills. However! They said they would try and buy the company I am working for and leave me here... Which would be ok I suppose... except that I would still be working with Terry.

They didn't offer any wage estimation but they said what I was being paid now was on the low end of the scale.

I don't really know what to think... Will I be stuck in abbotsford? Will my boss sell to them? Will they try and hire me at like 18$/hr opposed to 22$/hr because I didn't press that issue?.... So many questions... Time will tell...

On the positive side Terry (My current boss) said he would give me $1000 If I stayed untill somone bought his company. So if we get bought out I get a bonus and a raise :D

Not only did I GET an interview... I got an interview with a huge company in BURNABY WOOO. They want to meet with me Tuesday morning in Langley. If you have been reading my previous posts this is the company that had a higher experience requirement (5 years) for the job I wanted. Now, that being said, I don't know their opinions as of yet. They could want me to make a lateral more or something... who knows... but this is definite progress.

I need to pick out what I'll wear...

I JUST got the lowdown from a trustworthy source. Apparently the Burnaby branch has just got a contract with Rona for the designs of their stores and such. However the guy who is in charge of the project has slim to nil AutoCAD experience so his projects are constantly late. This, I suppose, is where I come in. WOOOO

So after applying at two different places I read over their hiring requirements again. One said they needed 5 years experience and one said they needed 3 years experience. I have 2.5 years of experience. If there has ever been a more disappointing job requirement I haven't seen it (maybe bilinguial). Especially considering experience doesn't always mean the same thing. There should be a test... I DEMAND TO BE TESTED.

Moving to Kamloops?
This weekend I went to Windfield for my aunt and uncles 10th year anniversary. Where I learned of a job opening in Kamloops. 45,000/year w/ benefits and a paid move to start (supposedly). The job is basically the same as my current one but for a much larger company. They are desperate for techs and I am a tech... I have yet to speak with the people who are offering the job. We shall see where this leads.

"This opportunity is open to candidates with formal post secondary training in an Engineer Design and Drafting or Architectural Design and drafting program, with a focus on AutoCAD and related software. Preference will be given to individuals that have artistic abilities along with above average free hand drawing skills. Experience in graphic design as it pertains to community planning is an asset.

Focus offers an excellent compensation package that includes competitive salary, above market group benefits and a RRSP plan."

P.S. MULLY I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE NOT APPLYING FOR THIS JOB TOO :O I may have trained you too well. >.>

Perseids Meteor shower
Wow that was cool! I only got to watch for like 20 minutes but I saw 5 or 6 bright meteors! One even lasted like 2 seconds. I would have stayed longer If the places I stopped to watch had been less scary. Or if ANYONE had come with me... bah peoples don't know what they are missing.

This sat and sun the Perseids Meteor shower will be occurring. Hopefully it won't be cloudy!!!! If your not in a bright place look n-ne on Saturday but mostly Sunday between 11pm and 1am. I plan on getting a bunch of people together an heading somewhere dark because "if it's clear and not cloudy" the conditions will be PERFECT!!! Seeing at it will be a new moon.

Supposedly on Sunday between 11pm and 1am there will be around 2 a minute!!

Space is rad...

Why do they call it an asteroid if it's in the hemisphere and a hemorrhoid if it's in your ass?

I was on e-bay just now looking for an external hard drive. I found one I liked and checked to see if I had enough in my paypal because I don't have a credit card. I saw I had $206.40 CAD No Problem. I went to buy the Hard drive which was 149.somthing and got all the way to the checkout before I realized that it was in USD so there I am all commited to buy without a credit card. The thing costs 198 or somthing I use paypal's exchange rate and guess what? the hard drive costs $206.29 all in... Wow... just wow... I'm glad I didn't buy that moogle toque earlier ;-; because I was eleven cents away from a headache. haha

Summing up
All in all everything is going smoothly. The day before the surgery I set up the television and my game consoles so after I got out of the hospital all I had to do is relax... and that's what I spent the last week doing. I bought Zelda Twilight Princess a while ago but didn't have the time to play seriously. So play I did... but Twilight princess deserves it's own rant.

Friends visited for which I am very grateful. My chum Rick Brought me Sushi one day and his roommate Brant got me a slushy another day. Even though it was sunny and hot outside and they could have probably went to the beach. My friend Debra even stopped by to watch some Dark Angel (mmm Jessica Alba).

So like I mentioned on the previous LJ today I went to work. Not because I had to but through "old man whining" my boss got me to come to work. I'm a nice guy so I realize that it's hard on him if I (his only full time employee) take all of my vacation time at once. (2 weeks) Because I'm the one who draws up the plans to give to the clients so they stop pestering him (and also give him money). The trick of it is during this time off he agreed to paint the office. Because I'm allergic to paint.

So my boss calls me up yesterday, Tuesday, and says oh I'm glad you can come in the painting is finished.

So I go in and what do I see? The kids he has hired to paint are still here. They have a quarter of the office left to paint and they have all the open paint cans set up beside my desk. What a jackass.

I'm usually not one to complain once I'm forced in a awkward situation. I just remember the degree of suffering I withstood. And then use that in future decisions. But the Claritin I'm on helped a lot. Only a mild burning in the ees all day. Usually I get sick and stuffed up.

Anyway I am going to work Friday and Monday so I save 3 holiday days for when I can go to the beach and swim. because it's sooo hot, and when it's hot people drop stuff in the lake. Then I go find it and add it to my treasure box. woooo treasure.
1:00 pm
I couldn't stay away :O
I'm back! More or less. today I was guilted to come in to work so I thought I would update!

The surgery went well the doctor said the cartilage around my bones hasn't started to deteriorate. Which, I suppose, is the plus side to having arthritis when your young. So if the surgery sticks I may be able to do some things you normal people can do. And if the surgery doesn't work the government will help pay for more effective (expensive) drugs. Honestly... they have drugs that they KNOW help A LOT but they hold on to them until all other avenues have been exhausted.

I know Canada has good medical but it could be so mch better... anyways..

The day of the surgery I was at the hospital for 8 hours. The line up was huge so we kept getting pushed back. Apparently the doctor who did my knee did two knee replacements before he did my stethoskopy. Oh and the nurce that led me to my surgery bed was super cute (hilight of trip) but I can't imagine she recipricated, what with me being in formal patient attire haha.

I'll make another post soon because my time is up

I may not be online for the next two weeks... On tuesday I'm going to van for knee surgery. After the surgery I am not supposed to usee my leg. That being said, my bedroom is on the second floor and my computer is on the first floor. I would have set up my computer in my room but the network cables are running through the walls and stuff and it would be a hastle to move everything. The television, however, had been moved. Zelda Twilight princess has been bought.
Good times will be had. In bed.
Hopfully my abby friends will come visit some time during the two weeks... We shall see.

<3 to all the internet peoples! I shall return... in about two weeks. (unless I break down and crawl downstairs to catch up on anime)

I have never been a strong speller. But then... it was never really important to me. On every test and quiz I studied extra hard on the material to make up for the marks I would lose on spelling. My English teachers would harass me for a few weeks, then sink into a reluctant acceptance. What does spelling count for? 10% in school? Spell check in the working world. (This doesn't work for names unfortunately. At least with my old spell checker.)

You know what I hate? People who rag on me for my spelling when they can't pronounce what it is they are trying to tell me to spell. Or people who lord it over me like it's something to be proud of (fining my mistake not spelling correctly). Everyone makes mistakes.
Another important distinction is why mistakes were made. Let me give you an example. "Proposed" is a word I have to type quite often in my line of work. sometimes I misspell it "Porposed" THIS IS A TYPING ERROR. I DO KNOW HOW TO SPELL PROPOSED. blaarg... ANYWAY.

So what's more important? Spelling grammar or Speaking grammar? I feel that neither are a necessity... but both are important... but I suck at spelling so I'll say Speaking grammar is more important for business and life in general.

should have skipped out to go to the beach...

Would you ever consider a job involving intense math skills, such as an architecht, an astronomer, engineer, or a math teacher?" I would have said no if I wasn't in an engineering firm >.> I hate math... but I'm good at it.

I hate thieves.
I hate thieves.
Just now, JUST NOW I was sitting in the back room at home reading some Berserk manga when I hear my car alarm go off. I jump up to investigate when I hear a door slam and tires squeal. I get to the door too late and all I see is my poor jeep calling for help... poor jeep.

I despise people that go out of their way to break the law/ hurt other people. Despicable.

An hour and a half later, here I am sitting quietly reading manga again when I hear a car pull up. Here’s the deal, I’m a paranoid person sometimes, If I feel that doing something will quench my paranoia I’ll do it. Like now “If I listen for cars maybe I’ll catch the jack ass return to the scene of the crime.” and guess what. When I hear some car come up, and check it out, it turns out to be some guy in a red SUV sitting across the street looking at my jeep. @#$@$%@ #$%@#% $%% Seriously WTF. So I go get a phone book and call the police. I tell the lady that my car alarm went off at 2am and I heard someone slam a door and speed off. But since there was no damage I didn’t call it in. At this point I check to see if the guy is still outside… which he isn’t. So I tell the girl that just now a guy in a red SUV was sitting across the street from my house smoking and then drove off. “We’re kind of busy right now.” She says “Ok. Never mind then.” Says I. “Call us tomorrow if you find any damage.” She says before hanging up.
